It’s not a secret that a healthy lifestyle is a good motivation for longevity. Running is one of the simplest physical exercises that you can do throughout the year, if you approach this activity wisely.
Running allows you to quickly get in a good shape, helps you to get energy for the whole day, and finally cheers you up.
I can’t give you an advise when exactly you should go for a run, it might be morning or evening, just after lunch or before going to bed. You should trust your body and try a healthy sporty life in the right way for you when it is the most convenient time.
I try to run almost all year round, 3 times a week. I prefer evening runs, just before sunset. It allows me to escape from the heat of the day in the summer, and there are much fewer people going for a run in winter or in the off-season.
Of course, sometimes laziness takes its “own” and I get breaks for a month or two.
Here are a few reasons why you need to run and why it is very useful:
1 – Running is the key to good health
Believe it or not, but running is a really great way to improve your overall health. Scientists from different institutes all around the world have proved that jogging can increase the level of “good” cholesterol, which will reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease, strokes, and also can help to increase lung capacity, muscle strength of your heart. In addition, regular jogging will generally strengthen your immune system.
2 – Running helps you lose extra weight
Running is one of the best types of exercises for losing and/or maintaining constant weight. It turns out that this is the second most effective exercise in terms of calories burned per minute, only after cross-country skiing.
3 – Running boosts your self-confidence
The result of regular jogging is not just measured by physical improvements. Running will provide a significant boost to your self-confidence and self-esteem. Thus, by setting and achieving a goal you can feel the expansion and limitlessness of opportunities, and this feeling will make you much happier and more successful.
4 – Even a short run helps relieve stress
Stress can cause a number of health problems and, of course, it changes your mood. It affects the decrease in appetite and the quality of your sleep. When you go for a run, you force your body to remove excess energy and hormones. During the run, you can think of something and come to a solution of the problem that was ruining your day.
5 – Running boosts your mood
If you are depressed or in a bad mood, the last thing you probably want to do is get up and go for a run. However, you might find this interesting, but just in a few minutes of running your brain will begin to secrete hormones that naturally boost your mood.
Running is incredibly useful for your body, mind and your spiritual balance, even a short run can make you stronger, faster, more focused, able to enjoy everything that life has to offer.
It all starts with a small step, and perhaps that run will change your life for the better.
